No, this UNC Scale School certificate program is a non-credit bearing course. No course credit will be given for completion.
No, you do not have to be an enrolled student at UNC Chapel Hill to take the Black Technology Ecosystem Investors certificate program. This program is open to the community for enrollment.
You will receive an online accreditation certifying that you have completed the Black Technology Ecosystem Investors certificate program and identifying the skills and knowledge in which you’ve built competency. Along with the electronic accreditation, you will receive an electronic badge that can be displayed publicly on your LinkedIn profile, on your websites or designated social media channels.
At the UNC Eship Center, removing barriers is an important part of ensuring greater access to our Scale School instructors and courses. Refunds on course registration fees are available within 30 days of the published course start date, less a $300 administration fee. We know that occasionally participants need to miss a live session. Sessions will be recorded and made available to all enrolled participants in addition to all accompanying class materials. We recommend viewing the meeting recording soon after the live session to accommodate any suggested work that is recommended to be completed before the next meeting.
Yes, each live session will be recorded and made available to all enrolled participants, in addition to all accompanying class materials. You’ll have access to this information during the course and in the future in case you need to refer back to any of the materials.
No, you do not currently need to meet the criteria of an accredited investor in order to enroll in this certificate program. The course is designed for those who are currently accredited or intend to meet that criteria in the next six-to-12 months, so participants who are on this path will get the most out of this course.
There will be nine, 2-hour virtual sessions between October and December 2021. Due to the action-driven focus for this course, there will be suggested work in between sessions that is recommended to get the most out of this certificate program. The course itself will have between 15-20 hours of live time with instructors, faculty and guest speakers, plus the additional work time that you allocate towards your individual work in between sessions.
