Innovation Internships is an Eship program that helps match UNC students with paid internships at high-growth startups while also providing them entrepreneurial focused programming and mentoring opportunities. The Innovation Internships program is now accepting applications for full-time summer 2021 (June - August) paid internships, and/or part-time fall 2021 (September - November) paid internships. Choose to be considered for one opportunity, or both, in the same application! In this course Marketing Essentials to Scale Your Business, you will learn how to define your marketing objectives, why it’s critical to tie them to your business objectives, which marketing will pay off the most and how to measure your efforts. You’ll explore the art of crafting messaging that resonates with your customers with the science of using analytics to hone your outreach activities. Whether you’re a founder, C-Suite executive or a manager tasked with aspects of the marketing execution, this course will provide you with a broad understanding of marketing, branding and communications, and the process needed to evolve your marketing plan for your growing organization. Scale School: Scaling Fundamentals in Operations and Finance

Scaling any business is an exercise in balance, with limited resources. Company leaders attempting to take their business to the next level need a broad understanding of how each of their key business areas, and their stakeholders, scale together. From employees to investors, from sales to finance, your growth plans need to balance a wide variety of requirements. When you need to increase attention and investment in one area of your business, how do you decide which budget gets cut? How do you demonstrate enough efficiencies in each area to create a real, sustainable business? This course will provide a framework to build coordinated plans for five distinct business functions (Revenue, Product, Staffing, Leadership, Capital) rolled up into a master plan for executing on and monitoring your company’s growth. By the end of this six-week course, participants will have the opportunity to complete and receive feedback on a comprehensive, new, or revised plan for growth. Scale School: Building Equitable Organizations on Purpose

Tuesday March 16, 2021 to Tuesday April 27, 2021

For many company leaders, creating an inclusive environment within their organization is their greatest hope, yet they are uncertain of the strategies, actions and behaviors needed to develop and integrate inclusion in a purposeful way. This course is designed for organizational leaders who want to either transform their existing organization to be more equitable, or to build a new venture that includes equity as a core focus from the beginning. Participants will be guided through the process of creating their own equity-oriented organizational strategy, learn key leadership practices needed to create and sustain an inclusive culture in their company and leave feeling empowered to put everything into action. Launching a new product or service requires embracing a different type of sales process. Whether it’s your first time entering the market, or a shift away from what your company has launched in the past, there are no historical models, pricing data, or sales messages that have been proven to bring in customers. The Leading a Successful Launch course will cover topics such as creating a repeatable sales process, establishing key milestones, evaluating successes and failures, and how to hire and build the right sales team.
